I love J-Term. It's the best 3 weeks of the whole school year. I only have one class to worry about, and once I finish with that day's requirements, I'm done. Nothing else to have to think about. This is my schedule (but not on the day's I work):
8:30-11:30 Class
11:30-12:00 Make myself some lunch
12:00-1:00 Go work out
1:00-2:00 Watch Days Of Our Lives
2:00-4:00 Take a nap
4:00-5:00 Lay around and be lazy
5:00-6:00 Make dinner
6:00-7:00 Do Homework
7:00 Total Freedom

Honestly, I'm livin the life...it can't get much better than this...

So, the folks at Westwinds introduced me to this website yesterday. It's awesome. It has been over a month since my last entry, but this website was good enough to bring me out of hiding.

The weekend...too short

So, great weekend! Adam and Dana came up, so Paul and I got to hang out with them which was super sweet. We spent some time on campus going to games, then Dana had a soccer game in Marshall, we ordered pizza, watched movies, played guitar hero....Oh it was good. I had a lot of fun. I don't get to see those guys enough.

Then, I found myself having more computer problems, which is super frustrating. So, I got my computer back Monday, and I am sending it back already. Something didn't get put back together right, and the panels don't match up...it's real weird. And, the lady I talked to on the phone was really grumpy about the whole thing. When I heard her start talking, I almost hung up and called again in the hope that I could get someone new. But, I didn't, and the she was grumpy and I was on the phone forever. Then, I was on phone a long time with the Circuit City Store here in Jackson, expressing my frustrations. I'm not sure where this will lead me, but I'd like to be on the road to a new computer...if that's possible. But, it's not looking too good right now.

Anyhow...I have some homework to finish up before my shows start tonight. So, until next time...

So, getting sick pretty much sucks. I feel completely immobilized, and all I want to do is sleep...which is the one thing I don't have time for. This semester is proving to be a lot more challenging than I had originally thought. A word of advice: don't save gen ed's for you last year, and don't add a new major your last year of college, it's suicide. And astronomy...I learned a valuable lesson this week. Don't study for the test, it will do you no good. That's depressing.

Anyhow, I think this will be a very chill weekend, which is just what I need. Hopefully I'll get to rest, get homework done, and hang out with Paul. If I don't snag him on the weekend, I don't really get to see him much during the week.

Speaking of Paul, he won his Tennis match yesterday in Goshen! I'm so very proud of him.

And...to Adam and Dana, I can't wait to see you next weekend. I miss you both so much.

So, I did it. I have officially slept through my first class. I feel a little bad about it, but I was so tired...Hope I didn't miss too much.

Westwinds = awesome. I love it there. I'm learning lots of cool things. The people are super great too. I love that it isn't a typical church atmosphere. There is a lot of freedom. For example, today we looked through a ton of magazines and just picked out a bunch of cool stuff that we liked, pinned it on a board, and now we just need to figure it out how to make it work. Endless possibilities....I love it.

School is tiring. I'm having a hard time staying motivated. By the 4th year...college gets pretty hard. My brain is stretched, my body is streched...I'm pushed and pulled to the limit. I know it's all for the good though. My strength just isn't enough to get me through it. I'm learning a lot of way cool stuff though. I don't want to make it sound like its all bad...it isn't. It's 95% good. I do love school...and my internship. :)

And, Paul turned 21 yesterday. We didn't get to celebrate until super late, but at least I got to see him at all. I got him a Wobble Clock and an Ecosphere. (follow these links but ignore the prices). He seemed pleased with his gifts. I feel good because I think I really suprised him. That's hard to do with Paul. Anyhow...good days.

So, I feel the need to clarify first. Justin's future wife is no longer at Westwinds...her and her husband left awhile to go to plant a church in North Carolina or something. Sorry guys. But, I'm still excited about the internship. I officially start this Wednesday.

My computer broke. It took yet another complete dump. It's very sad. To lose it so early in the semester. I'm going to have to send it in to get it fixed. It just shouldn't be this complicated. But, that means that if I want to use the internet in my room, I have to rely on my roommates to share their computers with me. Good thing they are all so nice.

Classes are going great. So far, nothing too tricky. I'm having a hard time staying motivated though. Paul and I came to the library today so we could get homework done (his computer dumped too). This is what we each accomplished:

Ashley: Type/reformat syllabus, type/reformat old class paper, recreate a flyer that previously looked like crap, post all the previous assignments on blackboard giving descriptions of all my creative additions, post and critique the graphic design of a website, use 'Starry Night' (a program) to find Venus' location relative to the earth and the sun for the next 20 months - draw a diagram depicted it - and predict when Venus is closest to the earth
Paul: A 2 page paper concerning Greek mythology, topic - his choice

Clearly I make better use of my time...we were both here 4 hours (and the paper was started before we got here and I am sitting here waiting for him to finish)

THIS IS PAUL SPEAKING HERE: I just wanted to say that although I might have taken far too much time to type this paper, I clearly had much more fun doing my homework than the snufalufagus that is sitting next to me...

Home at last...kind of

So, I survived Cape Cod. It was good to be out there, but it is even better being here. Our mini-vacation at the end was pretty nice too.

I wish that I could've spent more time at home. I felt so rushed. And, in the process of packing, I left some items at home, and I don't know how long I can survive without them.

But, I'm back at school, and I think my classes are going to keep me very busy. I'm taking Communication Technology, Christian in the Contemporary World, TV Producing and Directing, Astronomy, and Early Modern Europe. It's a pretty good line up. I also got the same job I had last semester, and it's pretty much the best job in the world. Plus...big news....I got an internship at Westwinds....which is pretty much the coolest church around. I'm very excited about it. Scheduling stuff might be a little tricky, but it'll work out.

So yeah, and my apartment is super sweet. It's a little further from campus than I'm used to, but it's worth the extra walk. It's nice having our own place.
